INDEPENDENT NIGERIA

If I say "Happy Independent's day" I don't say that because I am happy about the state of the Nation. What is it to be happy about? The economy? Security? Political or growth of the country's international relations? I say that because there Is hope for the living. So long this country is still united, we set our hearts right and heads straight, there is hope.

In 1960, Nigeria became Independent. Thereby received emancipation to govern her people in all facets of the state. It is quite unfortunate that  the independent was  only theoretical and not practical even as at 1963 that she became a republic till today, Nigeria's Independent is only theoretical and not practical.

An independent state that depends on other countries to feed herself although she has all the resources to feed herself to the brim and even other countries. An independent state blessed with human resources both manpower and intellectual but still contracts her capital projects to foreign companies for execution.

Where did we get it wrong?
As it is written, "if the foundation is destroyed, what can the righteous do?" We got it wrong from the root. From before the 1960's independent. The leaders that emerged were not for the people. They were only for themselves.

We have also had series of leaders who have imbibed the traits of those leaders till today.

Until Nigerians have a rethink, until we do away with chaotic politics, until we vote and elect based on integrity and conviction, until our political parties conduct referendic primaries where all party members far and near vote there choices and not selected representatives, then would we have a turn around for the good of Nigeria.

Then would we have a Nigeria for all Nigerians without intimidation and prejudic treatment. I call all Nigerians to rethink, forget the bad past, vote not out of nepotism and set our hearts on good things ahead then we would have a rebirth Nigeria.

God bless Nigeria.
