ÌYÁ ÀGBÁ BY SOUL POET

Image
ÌYÁ ÀGBÁ The black cat on a night roof Gazing preys like a hunting hawk. The mother of night that gives You chick and collects fowl. Ìyá àgbà, Who flys with her broom When the mute night is aged. You dance and dance like òkòtó With your very dark robes in coven. Show me not your whip, Like you flew on your prey roof Who joined the netherworld With night skies. Ìyá àgbà, Birds in your belly like Joseph robe, They trip the Earth four corners in swift They enter America without Visa. Èsú, At market square I offered thee corban, Let not my titles be gonged In the sabbat of your messengers. _niyeric9518 To the mothers of night, the goddess of darkness "witches" May 23, 2018 #soulPoet

A DAY FOR ME BY BOLA QUIN

Image
A DAY FOR Me. A day will be assigned for me, It will be the most important thing to me, My name will be on all lips, I will be the smile on every lips, This day I will be made a wife, Because I have found the man who is right, It will be the most perfect Saturday ever, Laced with the most beautiful weather, The heavens itself will be present, And it's beauty in full crescent. My gown would shine with pure decency, Kohl sitting on my eyelids perfectly, My fingers hugging the bouquet, Smiling perfectly at the guests, And every soul will be on their feet, As I approach the altar with my team. And when i stand before you, To exchange the sacred vows with you, I'd say them with loyalty and pure determination, And carefully slide the golden band with full concentration, And when you remove the veil, Look into my eyes for there's a message, The one that only you will understand, And it says with you I'd stand, Tailoring you to royalty, The type your p

DEAR LISA BY Okiemute Idjerhe

Image
‘Dear Lisa, I’m sorry. I know you hate it when you say that but this time I really need to say it. I’m sorry I always push you away when you try to reach out. I’m sorry that when you stretch out your hand to save me, I choose to jump instead. I’m sorry I shut you out and said I was fine each time you asked how I was doing. You know that’s the most cliché thing in the world right now; saying we’re fine even when we’re not because that’s the right answer for the ‘how are you’ question. Okay, I can totally see your face right now. I know I’m just being a smart ass. In truth, I have never really been fine. I’ve been anything but fine. I’m tired. I’m tired of my dad and the harsh words that he speaks without the knowledge that they hurt, not just me but mom too. I’m tired of seeing mom sad because of me. I’m tired of the voices in my head. It’s really noisy in there and I can’t think. I’m tired of being here. I’m tired of me. I know you’re probably going to say I’m not alone; I’v

MAY BY SOUL POET

MAY . . May, The eldest seed of Spring. Spring, The water goddess. May, The eldest seed of Spring That spits oceans Your spit floods streets, bridges and houses. You hypnotises us with lust, You turns thighs of women Into an oven and Turns men shaft Into a moses wand May, A bringer of mangoes That eases every lip. You wears famers a smile Like a gambler who hits jackpot. When you spit; Mountain animals give birth, Flowers merry, Humans lust. May, Fertility goddess . May 25, 2018 ©soulPoet

AIIT BY SCARREDPOET

Image
"Aiit" A senior staff, old enough to be my papa just called me to his office, sweating profusely as he tries to decipher a message sent to him, he's apparently sent a message in which the sender, abbreviated alright to "aiit" he kept shouting Ehhhhhhh Ehhhhhhh... CLO what's this?  Until he invited me over to his chair, taking a peep at the message, "oh sir, nothing to worry about..that's alright "I explained. Hmmmm he sighed, I chuckled under my breathe as I walked back to my seat, this internet diction is fast becoming a menace to our society it's high time we drop these corrupted version of the queen's language, nevertheless age should not stop the older  generation from keeping abreast with world's trend, how do you correct what you don't know! ©Scarredpoet

ALL I NEED IS YOU BY NOBLE

Image
*All I need is you* All I need is a arm to call a home A face to call my mirror A lips to call my bed A hand to caress my hair An eye to behold my beauty A ear to listen to me A hand to hold me A leg to walk with me down the aisle And a heart to call my own For love doesn't need reasons. It speaks from the irrational wisdom of the heart All I need is you... ©Noble

If You Tell Anyone by Drunk Poet

Image
... If you tell anyone one . He crept his feet that night like a scorpion Dead, even to the sensitivity of nature His presence was patched with uncertain auras Epilepsy at a time, later turmoil in saturation . My God! I should have known by his sophisticated demeanors And by his beguiled compliments on my velvet lips His reckless talks of treating me like a queen And the dexterous hold my hips . His hands could bear witness that night As my breath shuffled away "be gentle! " and for your own good, "be quite! " He did it like he had been born for it ... And my silent groans and moans died unheard . Now I only forward to my friend karma But shhhhhhhh He'll kill me! ... If you tell anyone ©️Drunk_ poet

GOAL OF GOALS by Soul Poet

Image
. . Not everyone can have shinny precious thing, but all humans want it. The one who wants to own, the one who wants to survive, the one who wants to realize his goal, all of them will be caught up in the storm. Who will end up having it, who will disappear and who will gain victory? However short-lived it may be, but while they are alive no one will be able to suppress their goals. Someone wish, is another man goal. This is law of nature after all _niyeric9518 . May 16, 2018 #soulPoet

Just say the magical words, And i will be all yours. Just say the right words, And have all my love. Don't be blindfolded by what you see. I'm just more than this. Stop drooling on the sparks and the wet moments I'd give, I have more to offer . I beg you, say the right words , Because I want to be gained. #Boley_quine #bola'spen

Lost dignity by FestyWC_Lovedom

Image
🌌 *F.W.C-Lovedom* 🌌 _Motto: we make people smile_ *LOST DIGNITY* "Virginity is a very important virtue of every human being", was a statement I uttered which revealed a shock. I stood by the thought of our parents as they had received from the archaic realm of our ancestors, that virginity is an important virtue. I never realized that time change is equivalent to acts change. I heard that some ladies don't even want their virginity taken by any man but themselves. How? I learnt that ladies could go as far as using their finger or any relating tool that can fit in to deflower themselves. Why? I learnt that the aim is for no man to be claimer. Chai!  This why may require another why. It is actually interesting to hear. However, what part of it interests you? Feel free to comment! J7rGyfqFWZFGUCpLAcBh64 🌌 *FestyWC_Lovedom*🌌

Girl Child (Part A) by Gbolahan Justice

Image
She's a girl because she is A girl with two personalities Made to always change it like garment Depending on the occasion. The society says gender, Biology says sex She's a girl and you imprisoned her She must not have friends Caged in a mirage called life She's so pretty that It seems like stepping out Will corrupt her beauty; Virgin lips, virgin soul She's good only for house chores But not good for the society She wears out easily Under the constant load of work I wonder if there's a change to this Because she deserves a free soul Overprotected but underdeveloped Overprotected but still feels unsafe No wonder they carry babies in their puberty Sold to slave of marriage in their teens Not made to enjoy life as the male But I ask, how is she different from him?

Girl Child (Part B) by Gbolahan Justice

Image
Part B Why must the male lead in politics And the female carry files as Personal Assistant? Why can't the male be the secretary While the female give orders? Why's there so much injustice in the land? She is not different from her male counterpart Why can't we have a society of Full house husbands and wives as breadwinners? Oh! You're shocked? It is wrong? We say no to a society of equality That's only preached and practised In the kitchen and the other room. Her right is not to be trodden upon But explored towards making a difference In the street, a hope for the unborn; A life for the living. We have had enough marginalization Enough of segregation No, to, "I want a male child" Èwo ni òkín se omo? Èwo ni o lèdá? Ask from the barren woman? She has a lot of stories to tell.  She sure knows her importance Go to the mad woman with the same question What response did you get? But you're here, Selecting with the tips of your  th

It is not My Fault that I am Bad by Gbolahan Justice

Image
It is not my fault that I am bad It is deep down inside my DNA It is not my fault that things got messy Even though, we try to make them work But don't forget that it is in my nature As a human being, that As much as things want to get better We just find a way to corrupt it Some people belle full sote Some people no see bellefull chop Why is it that we need to get two things wrong, Before we get a thing right? Why don't we learn from our mistakes? Why can't we avoid some? And put our child's hand in the cloth?

🌌 *F.W.C-Lovedom* 🌌 _Motto: we make people smile_ Why won't a fortunee Call Nigerian youths lazy? This may be factual And distinctively habitual. Diversification of life I believe But in one singular subject we live. If foretold in heaven Who would prefer this non-haven? We are in it already And we shall soon merry. For with prayers and supplications All these will be past occasions. Education may be the best legacy, It should not be the only agency. © Ayodeji Festus 🌌 *FestyWC_Lovedom*🌌

You have pushed me by Boley Quine

Image
Do you not see what you have done?. You stepped on my tail expecting me to run, But I smiled, acting like a nun, Again u ripped my heart and took it as fun, I still hoped with time you would realize you are wrong. But do you know of this one? That I'm two-faced like a sharp sword, A devil and an angel to the core. And do you also know of this one? That I'm as hot as volcanic lava. I burn!!! I melt!!!, Sounding like thunder rumble. I destroy!!! I torment!!!, Reducing to crumble. Weldone for you have murdered the angel in me, Your sharp blade of dishonesty did the trick, Congratulations, for the devil in me is aroused, Beware for I ooze and spread and claim anything on my path, Prepare, for no water shall be able to quench my fire. #Boley_quine #bola'spen.

Sheep Turn Tigers by Boley Quine

Image
Once I met a "sheeplike heart" in a leopard's body. One whose heart is to be preserved in a golden bottle. One whose "sheep like "tender incisors got sharpened by circumstances. One whose tender self would only be separated from its leopard's skin when shown love. ©Boley_quine #bola'spen Dedicated to the sheeps who turned tigers

THE LITERATE IL-LITERATES" by BOLEYQUINE

Image
"THE LITERATE IL-LITERATES". There's no doubt that Unemployment is one of the difficulties trending in our world today. It has however eaten deep, destroying the growth and development of our economy. It has however proved to be one of the most popular reasons why most people would choose business over education sometimes. It is undeniably sad that graduates with impressive grades who worked way too hard to earn good grades would be left to wander on the streets looking for a white collar job. What a sad situation!. But what amazes me and at the same time very amusing and then at the same time again annoying! Is that people now take advantage of this opportunity to find excuses for why they were not successful. It's so bad that even someone whose highest educational achievement is SSCE, and who luck has smiled on to work as a manager in a petrol station, would start ranting that if only he was employed in a big company, he could have been richer. Or even
