What More? By Ajagbe Wuraola

What more? What more can you do besides Killing innocent youths?  We thought you knew better, Than to make the mother who carried her child for nine months go through pain. And the father who went miles to take care of the child so he'll have a better future, go through the anguish of his loss. We thought you knew better, Than to subject friends into deep sorrow and pain and our plans and efforts go to waste in vain. The future is at risk as  our lives too. No one knows who's next  Who's going be a victim of your brutality?  No one knows whose bed will soon be empty forever. No one knows whose death we will announce in an unpleasant way. What more do we do to save Nigeria and make our dreams come true? How much more do we lose before this lofty heights are attained? How much more shall we bleed before we complete this building of this nation where peace and justice will reign?  #AllLivesMatters  #YouthlivesMatters  #OurFutureMatters  #ENDSARS By Ajagbe Wuraola

Fundamental Human Rights and Policy Advocacy (1)

Fundamental Human Rights and Policy Advocacy (1) Bayonle Fesobi   When dealing with public action that uses public resources, the objectives or procedures used to determine government's action should garner the greatest possible increase in welfare in the most efficient way possible. It is on this premise that public policies aim to rationally address a public problem through a process of government's action. Generally,  where policies are developed within a human rights framework, it is more likely that corresponding laws will enshrine human rights effortlessly. In the same vein, when such laws and programs are designed and implemented,  people are less likely to need judicial help to secure their rights. Policy work should be based on the assertion that government policies developed in the area of economic, social and cultural affairs are not matters of mere generosity, but are rather obligations of the state to set agendas and programs for fulfilling and protecting human rig

The Unseen Demon by Oludamola Oluwaseun

The Unseen Demon Human evolution has occurred in small groups and they naturally maintain a social network. As commonly known, tribalism is the state of being organized by, or advocating for, tribes or tribal lifestyles. Amongst common culture, tribalism is the way of thinking or behaving in which people are loyal to their social group above all else or derogatorily a type of discrimination or animosity based upon group differences.  According to Patrick Dixon, tribalism is the most powerful force in the world. I can’t help but agree with him due to how far this force has gone to hinder growth, development and the economy of nations across the African continent. The Problem I find it extremely funny yet shameful anytime I hear my fellow African say “together we can change Africa”.  Such lies we keep telling ourselves when we know deep down in our hearts and souls, we worship the demon called tribalism with no regrets.  Africa births many tribes hence leaving her divided and ununited. Why so round?

Why so round?  Baked with love I so feel somehow Like I should behold to devour and adore More like to show it love and care But Of what use is the love and care for a consumable? Oh, Its so tender Tender? But can it linger? For How much longer? Why do you seek its end, O ye, devourer For my tender one is frightened Tenderer has no thought of how sweetly her teddy bear would send down love shivers down the spine of my throat...  Oh, how my feet salivate to grab already Be gone! You make my tender one weary Let the nightingale sing and black bird whisper for my tender one is left to rest... Oh yes, I will and soon, thy tender one too will be gone! Lest we bring the kids to dance around her grave And from whence comes the kids?  That's the part the devourer hides from the tender. Bayonle F. and Victory O.  ©2020

An Emerging Earth

An Emerging Earth The environment, commonly referred to as living things in interaction with their surroundings, or simply put, everything around us, belongs to all of us. It influences all life activities, therefore it is important to us all and we have the utmost responsibility to protect and care for it. Okwulehie Nmeri Orabelema, Nigerian born seasoned environmentalist is the Creative Director @Eventzbylemaz and a Fellow of The Young African Leaders Initiative speaks more about this to commemorate the 2020 World Earth Day .  How important is this environment that we live in?  The environment is as important as our health, livelihood and well being. The subject of the environment is one that is both local and global in nature, that is to say while we are focusing on what can be done to help protect our environment on a global scale we should also think and look within ourselves, there's a lot we can and should be doing. We have lived in sheer disregard for this for too long and
