BEYOND THE SHORES OF MORTAL LANDS

A twilight nap had led me
Beyond the distant shores of mortal lands
I walked with giants and spoke with ghosts
Threading the hidden territories of life
Unearthing the mystery of an ageless world

Life is a long song on thorned tongues
Making prey out of them who treasure her the most
Death is short and sure
A magnified lie in the ears of cowards

When this winter wind wanes
To stay the sail from sea
May we cross the stars with no furrowed frown
May we meet the Maker with no burrowed bow
